Buddhist Pilgrimage Tour in Nepal

Nepal, being the birthplace of Buddha, is an important center for the Buddhists. The Buddhist monasteries, Stupas and pagodas are scattered all around the country.!Nepal's Lumbini is the holiest buddhist pilgrimage site to the entire Buddhist. Visiting Lumbini, great stupas around the valley, gumpas and talking to the great lama would not only be a travelling but truly pilgrimage, where we will be able to observe activities of Lamas and Anne’s very closely in the monasteries and puja at gumpa. Yoga and meditation would inspire you towards doing better and releasing your materialist tensions.Beside the Buddhist site, Nepal has amazing snow Mountain View to the north, the cultural people in the city, the living culture and their fundamental customs would calm down from your business and tiredness.

Day1. Arrive in Nepal:

You will be received at Kathmandu airport by our representative holding your name plate. After formal meeting, you will drive to the Hotel. There is an option of familiarization walk to the old Kathmandu in the suburb of tourist center of Thamel. The old Kathmandu has some of the important Bajarayana Buddhist Stupas and monasteries.

DAY 02: Sightseeing Buddhist Sites and Visit Pharping

Come down to the Hotel restaurant for breakfast. Your tour guide will be introduced. He will guide you through the Buddhist sites of Kathmandu. We will visit two stupas of Swyambhunath and Boudhanath, Naropa and Tilopa caves of Pashupatinath and the oldest existing Buddhist city of Patan. And we will drive to Pharping in the south of Kathmandu. Pharping (Yanglesho) is the place where Guru Padmashambhava attained the state of enlightenment. There are two major caves blessed by Padmasambhava. Drive back to Kathmandu. Stay at hotel.

Day 03: Visit Maratika Cave, Halesi

Maratika cave, Halesi is one of the six most important Buddhist pilgrimage site. This is where Buddha Amitabha taught eighteen Tantras of long life. The Dakini Sangwa Yeshe recorded and hid these teachings as Terma at Maratika. Later Guru Padmasambhava received the teachings. After practicing for ninety days, Buddha Amitayus appeared in the sky and gave initiations to the Guru and Mandarava Maratika cave is located 200 km east of Kathmandu.

Day 4: Namobuddha And Dhulikhel Sightseeing

We will drive to Dhulikhel,dinner at Dhulikhel and  Later drive to Namobuddha. The Namobuddha Stupa is believed to be erected over the relic of Bodhisattva who sacrificed himself to feed starving mother tigress and her cubs. Namobuddha at 1,700 m is also provides panoramic view of the Himalayas. And stay at dulikhel at hotel.

Day 5: Bhaktapur Tour and Drive to Pokhara

Sunrise over the Himalayas from Dhulikhel is what drives hundreds of tourist in this hill staion town. After breakfast, we will drive to Bhaktapur. Bhaktapur is known as 'The Living Museum' as it still retains its medieval fragrance. Just the hill above Bhaktapur lies the cave where Milarepa meditated. It is known as Bagishwari Saraswati Sthan (Manjushree cave). And Drive to Pokhara  and sightseeing we visit some Buddhist landmarks in Pokhara and also enjoy the nature's majesty. Check in to hotel and take a free walk around the lake side in the evening .Stay at hotel.

Day 6: Pokhara Full Day Sightseeing:

Breakfast will be serving at Hotel and The massive Buddhist stupa of World Peace Pagoda was constructed by Buddhist monks on a narrow ridge high above Phewa Tal. We cross the Phewa Lake on a boat and then hike to the Stupa. Then we will visit the Malepatan Gomba or monastery at Malepatan. Then we make another hike to Hyangja, the site for Tibetan refugee camp who fled Tibet after the Cultural Revolution in China. You may try the Tibetan variety of foods, bargain for curios, and at the same time acquaint yourself with the Tibetan culture.and sightseeing Tibetan refugee camp, Tibetan Choling Gumpa, Shanti Stupa, David falls, Seti river gorge .with our city tour guide.Back to hotel and rest.

Day 7: Drive to Lumbini

We drive to Lumbini today - about 290 kilometers south-west from Pokhara which takes for about 6-7 hours. We bid goodbye to the Himalayas in Pokhara, and head toward a more flat lands of Nepal's Terai. Generally, the weather gets hot and humid in the plains except in the winter. Perhaps, Lumbini is the most important Buddhist pilgrimage site - the place where Buddha was born. In case we reach Lumbini around the sunset time, we can stroll in the local market to have a glimpse into the local lifestyle.

Day 8: Full Day Explore lumbini Buddist circuit

Lumbini is one of world's major religious, architectural, and historical places. First we visit the Mayadevi temple which is built on the exact place where Buddha was born.. We also visit the museum and peace pagoda. Some of the important landmarks and monuments in Lumbini include: Ashoka's Pillar erected by Emperor Ashoka (249 BC) on the spot of Buddha's birth which also has the oldest inscription in Nepal. There are many Buddhist Temples founded by the devotees from different countries:  Tibetan, Chinese, Japanese and Burmese, Korean, etc

Day 9: Drive back to Kathmandu 7-8 hrs:

Breakfast will be serving at Hotel and We head back toward Kathmandu today - about 300 kilometers journey into the winding mountain road. The journey would take for about 6-7 hours.Lunch will stop at Narayanghat and continue to Kathmandu.

Day 10: Fly Home: Farewell Friend
